Over Rudy's career, he's made several dozen albums. As one of the early "blue" comedians, he paved the way for the likes of Richard Pryor. Unlike his contemporaries (Redd Foxx, et.al) he was not afraid to use street language and was one of the first to actually say the word "fuck" on a record. A rather dubious distinction but without this breakthrough, Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy wouldn't be employed.
His early works were so controversial that stores refused to stock them on the shelves. Rudy's records were stored behind the counter in a plain brown wrapper. In order to buy one, you had to know to ask a clerk to get you a copy. Despite this, many of his albums went on to crack the Billboard Top 25 and were instant classics.
Most of Rudy's albums have been out of print for 20 or more years. However, his fans still want to hear his work and until now there has been no way to do so... until now. Album titles in bold indicate that it can be streamed in its entirety through an embedded Flash MP3 player. Once the album is displayed, click the album title to begin it from the beginning or click the individual tracks to jump to it.
